Harefield Hospital Atrial Fibrilation Project
We are proud to be working in collaboration with Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust to identify people within the community with a potential risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as a stroke. It involves targeted screening of people aged over 65 for AF using a Kardia monitor (a handheld ECG monitor). Every time we run this project in our pharmacy we are successful in identifying a handful of patients with potential risk that are refered to Harefield hospital for futher investigation are put on preventative measures to help avoid the risk of getting debilitating life long conditions.
